Scuba Rangers
As an army Ranger, would I be able to take advanced training courses like Scuba and freefall?
I just graduated from college and I’m going to join the military. The Rangers is something that I’ve always wanted to be a part of but I really want to do things like freefall and combat diving. I’ve seen websites talk about how one of the perks of becoming a Ranger is the access to advanced training schools such as jumpmaster, scuba, freefall, SERE, etc. Is Ranger access to these courses really “unparalleled” like goarmy.com describes it, or are they still difficult to get into even after becoming a ranger?
Schools are HARD to get.
Forget getting them in your first enlistment
Only ranger in the recon units are gonna get freefall school
You have to make quite a few jumps to get jump master school, figure 5 or 6 years
Combat dive school — ask for it at reenlistment time as a reenlistment incentive.
2. You gotta remember, when your at a school, your no good to your unit, you cannot train, cannot deploy with them
And it cost your unit money out of thier training budget to send anyone to a school.
